Giving Girls a Better Future

Daraja Academy is an all-girls school in Kenya that has provided secondary education, healthcare, shelter and food to their students. With an 80% dropout rate (from primary to secondary school) for Kenyan children, Daraja Academy gives girls the chance to shape their own future.

The Girl Effect (backed by Nike and the UN) has chosen Daraja Academy to participate in the Girl Effect challenge which could lead to the academy receiving portions of the Girl Effect fund in 2012.
