  1. I like the color better, personally. It gives more of a serene feel.

  6. I am going to deviate from the crowd on this one. I like the color, no question it is a beautiful image. However, I ADORE the black and white. The drama and texture is fantasic! You can see so much detail in the water, and the contrast is just amazing. My vote is definitely for the black and white.

  7. I am also voting for the black and white image. Love the color, But there's just something I love about the contrast and the lighting of the black and white image.

  8. I love both... but that gorgeous blue... it would be a shame not to see it so I vote color!

  10. The black and white one! The contrast with the light, water, and the fluid motion of the model is breathtaking.

  11. the black and white one...
the black and white is mysterious and the contrast between the colors is stronger... while the color one is nice, the color tells you that she is under a swimming pool.

  12. I prefer colour, the background of the b/w one distracts me.
I was just in my apt buildings pool for the first time yesterday and want to do a little shoot for fun.
    Any tips that you learned?

  13. I have to say B/W on this one, though I love the color as well.

  14. I like them both, but I LOVE the black and white image. It is so much more powerful. Perhaps if she was in a more (I don't know how else to say it) fun position (lively maybe?) the color would be a more appropriate choice. But the contrast of the black and white creates so much more depth, clarity, and drama. I love it!!

  16. I LOVE the b/w one! The contrast between the dark pool and the heavenly white ballerina is breath taking! I love the texture in the water that the b/w image make, in fact I had no idea you took this photo in a pool before seeing the color version! It looks like she's in some kind of natural pool somewhere exotic with fine white sand.

  17. I'm going with B&W on this one as well... while the blue really stands out and is cool and crisp, I love the drama of the B&W.

  18. I really like the softness of image in color. However, the B&W version makes a true statement. It's very dramatic.

  19. Love it! our photographer/founder's husband did an underwater photoshoot as well that I think is a great way to capture the art of movement.

Here is a photo from the shoot:http://scottmarkewitz.com/sport.php?iid=101

  21. how do you take your underwater pics? what kind of camera??

  22. I'd love to know more about the logistics of this...not the tricks of the trade, but are you under the water, too? Do you wear special gear? Do you plan poses before going in, etc? These are amazing.

  23. Yes, I'm underwater as well. I have pretty good lung support so I stay down while the model comes up for breaths 2-3 times before I come up. I wear a swimsuit and goggles and my camera goes in a special underwater case. Poses are generally talked about beforehand.
