Believe me, when you celebrate in Switzerland you can ONLY have chocolate! There is no Libby's pumpkin pie filling to be seen for miles! (I've heard rumours that if you can get into the army base store up in Frankfurt you can score a can, but that is about the closest we get to pumpkin pie).
I couldn't agree more! I had a layover in Paris yesterday on my way home for the holidays so I bought a gigantic Swiss chocolate bar to add to the dessert table at dinner today. A lovely piece of dark chocolate is the perfect end to every mea.
I fully agree, so I started my own tradition of making the most delectable and gorgeous chocolate coconut cream tart (my own combination of recipes from Cook's Illustrated and Martha Stewart) every Thanksgiving. This year I'm adding a chocolate caramel pie. Yum.
It's at our party! Vicki always makes Grandma Hill's luscious fudge. We snack on it before, and after turkey! Yummy!!
ReplyDeletemy mil makes a chocolate pecan pie every thanksgiving. it is definitely my favorite. perhaps you could add that to your thanksgiving feast as well?!
