the greatest giveaway.

i'm devastated that gourmet is closing doors... but how about some good news today? i have been hired to shoot a cookbook and have been working on it the past year and a half... and i'm working on it this week in boston!

so here's the amazing giveaway: submit a recipe to us and the author, christin harding, will choose one lucky winner to feature the recipe in her cookbook and will fly you to boston (1 night hotel and airfare) where we will get together, you will cook it in her amazing kitchen, and i'll shoot it.. that same night, will be a party for the cookbook project.

here is the catch: the recipe may not be from our lovely american culture. the cookbook, Expanding the Kitchen Table will be featuring cuisines from around the world and the proceeds will benefit a few charities. (cookbook is due in may --at least we're crossing our fingers it will be. :)

    This is the first I've heard that Gourmet is closing. I am SO SAD. I loved getting each issue and studying the beautiful photos. I loved the writing and the design too. I just read that the Rachel Ray magazine was soaking up all the advertising. Blech. I much prefer Gourmet. Ruth Reichl never mentioned they were shutting down production on the magazine in her letters from the editor. What will I do without this magazine? I AM FREAKING OUT.

    But luckily there will be a cookbook with your photographs. Congrats on that. You are very talented!
