bread alone

lately, i've been on a bread kick. now i'm determined to make all the best breads in these two books. if time allows, i'll photograph and document my findings... for now.. i'm collecting flours and equipment. yay!

Not that I condone breaking and entering but perhaps you could create a distraction at Boudin and grab some sourdough starter for your project.

Well, if you're in SF you have to make bread. It's a must.

If I lived there I would endlessly play with sourdough...

Try "Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day." It is a great book. It gives you a basic recipes for dough, and then offers hundreds of variations. You keep the dough in your fridge and take what you need out daily and bake it. It is wonderful. Fresh bread, bagels, rolls etc everyday.
