I'd have to say not my favorite either. My friend said the end was messed up, so I was hoping for more messed up. :)

Blah! What a weird book. I did not enjoy it!

I'm glad to know you liked it, though. It's been sitting on my table for a while. I've been meaning to read it. I got caught up in the twilight series. I never thought it would happen to me. But I fell off the wagon...that I was the only person on.
I guess what I meant to say is, that I jumped on the band wagon. and it was totally worth it. But I still hate peer pressure! (which is what did it to me.)

I read it and really liked it. It made me sad, but I really liked it.

Oh, and the Twilight series -- so very worth it!

I read it a couple years ago--very tragic story but very moving as well.

I was so excited to read it. After I did... MAJOR dissapointment. It was such a downer! Here's to the classics!

Didn't Hallmark make a movie out of it with Dermot Mulroney?

didn't read it, but saw the made-for-TV movie. really disturbing, but Gretchen Mol was gorgeous.

I just read it within the last couple of months. Didn't love it. There were some really beautiful elements, but as a whole I just didn't love the story.

Relieved to find other people who did not overly enjoy this book. i felt that it had a lot of promise, but idn't quite live up to it.

Ugh. I read it too. Kind of. I just couldn't get past the first 100 pages. SO DEPRESSING.

Overall, not a book I would re-read. It was ok, but somewhat overrated, I thought.

I read this and loathed it! I couldn't stand any of the characters, and I was depressed for the rest of the day after I read it. Such a downer, and so many better books that could have filled those hours.

Just finished it yesterday and watched the movie this morning. Bawled like a baby!

Well, I just re-read your post...and I guess you meant that you didn't like it much? Seems like not many people here did. Wondering if I should read it...hmmm.

Amanda,

I'm not sure if I did like it.. it was a page turner because i was desperate to see it resolve happily... it was just a disappointing ending and a sad story altogether.. i think others are right.. there are far too many better books out there to read.

I think the reason why I liked it was because I served my mission in Kentucky and knew all those places and streets in Lexington. Other than that.... not really a fave.

I started it but it just seemed to depressing to me and I just didnt want to get any further into it. Oh well.

I love your blog! I've been reading it for months since my daughter (an aspiring photographer) told me about you. Thanks for all the fun uplifting images. You are an amazing talent! Of interest: Memory Keeper's Daughter was made into a movie last year (one of those Lifetime TV things.) The father was that Dermott Mulroney guy from "My Best Friend's Wedding." It actually was very good and you can probably find it on DVD soon.

I just wanted to shake those characters! I loved the book but it did make me so angry at points.

Totally agree, it was so depressing I almost didn't want to read it anymore, but I hate not finishing a book...so I pushed through. Not a very uplifting ending either, I wouldn't recommend it to a friend
