molly turns 1
and here we go...
molly had so much fun with her best friends. it was a water-dog only party, with the exception of her Sunday bichon pal Sarah. (natalie would like it noted that her non-racist metropolitan cousin stellie included all breeds at her party)
the activities started with a Dog/Owner Look-Alike contest:
(L-R: mom+ zippy, mama + sarah, charlie and dareth, lyle + diva, nicole + molly, ang + sashie)

we served dog/owner treats like tuna fish sandwiches...
and homemade dog biscuits...
(richard + our dog zippy, ali + charlie, ali + zippy, kara + zippy)
it was clear that Party won our True WaterDog Contest.
lyle showed us how to show our dogs. (lyle, ang, me)
The Dog Race (one owner was on the other side calling the dogs)
Diva (Molly's mom) playing, Molly following, Molly winning the dog race.
Trick & Treat contest. Molly won, of course.
Even though Molly won in every event, Molly was gracious enough to give her special PWD prizes to the next place winners.
molly and her party hat, mom's amazing white stripe, molly's birthday cake: pureed mackeral and dog food, frosted with cottage cheese.
being the real hostess, my mom bought cake for the owners. unfortunately, the dogs tipped it out of her hands.

and yes, i'm aware that i need children. you may give me yours.

wasn't a wedding happening this summer....did i miss something?
oh my gosh too cute!
Party wants to come back to another party. She likes to play chase with her sister
Uh-oh, the cake got dropped!? Those doggies all look sooo happy!
Nicole, you may have forgotten but Libby died a year ago... that dogs name is Zippy. aka Zippidee do da or Zipper. Zippy.
You want my kids? Seriously?
We'll drop 'em off Friday at 3 and pick them up Sunday night. If you could have them fed and bathed that would be great. Thanks! ;)
Looks like fun....and a party just isn't a party until you drop the cake. The dog cake surely sounded tasty...nothing like some cottage cheese to get that pureed mackerel down.
Looks like fun was had by all, and Miss Molly has grown up into such a cute water dog. Makes a mommy/owner proud!
I have a PWD i love it. I love seeing all of them I am obsessed with the breed
What a cute party! I wouldn't have thought to throw a doggie birthday party. So fun!
that is the cutest party ever! i still wish my pup and i were invited though...
Our PWD, Maggie, is from Lyle also; she's three and Diva's her mother (I'm 99% positive on that - could be Wanda, but pretty sure it's Diva)
She's an all-black curly and she HATES the water - never swims, never gets in the baby pool... she's a tiny bit broken. She's also the nicest dog on the planet and would have loved a party like this! Poor thing - we're hardly as devoted (maybe that's because we have four kids, too)
Wow! That looks like a whole lotta fun! I always enjoy peeking into your life through your fabulous blog!
and i do give you my children and I love it when you take them and i will continue to send them to you whenever i can. :) I love these pics! Looks like it was a grand ol' fiesta. The white stripes in y'alls hair are pricesless.
what a party! and you did such a great job with all the decor and party food...any ideas for a puppy party in november/december when our dog turns 1?!
oh, and how'd you and your mom get those great stripes in your hair?!
thanks everyone!
brooke: is your party going to be snowy? that could be more tricky... cause you definitely want piddling puppies outdoors!
the stripe was a $5 white extension piece picked up at Sally's.
I am a long-time blog lurker, and I just have to say: wow! Your pictures, your creativity, style, etc... wanna swap jobs?
how cute are you? this is so fun.
Are you sure this was a party for dogs? It looked more like a Cruella Deville gathering! Cute and Fun.
I have a porty too and am in the process of throwing his 1st birthday party. Did you have an invite you sent out for this party? Everything you did came together so nicely!
Hi Kerry,
Thanks! Here's the link to the invite: http://nicolehill.blogspot.com/2008/08/get-excited.html
